Dr. Shahid Hussain Bokhari
Shahid H. Bokhari (born 17 January 1952 in Lahore, Pakistan) is a highly cited Pakistani Researcher in the field of parallel & distributed computing, computational biology & bio-informatics. He received his BSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Engineering & Technology, Lahore, MSc & PHD in Electrical & Computer Engineering from the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has served UET as a professor & Directorate of Research Extension & Advisory Services. He has been associated with ICASE, University of Colorado, Stuttgart University, University of Vienna and University of Tsukuba as a researcher. Bokhari’s ACM & IEEE Fellow citations state that he received an award for his “Research contributions to automatic load balancing & partitioning of distributed processes.” & “Contributions to the mapping problem in parallel & distributed computing”.
Dr. Tahir Ghani
Dr. Tahir Ghani, with his co-workers, has played key leadership roles at Intel Corp. in developing the three biggest changes in transistor technology over the past decade. He did his BSc. from UET LHR and his PHD from Stanford University. Dr. Ghani is an IEEE Fellow and the 2012 co-recipient, along with Bohr and Chau, of the IEEE Jun-ichi Nishizawa Medal “For sustained leadership in developing innovative transistor technologies for advanced logic products.” He is currently an Intel Fellow and director of transistor technology and integration at Intel Corp., Hillsboro, Ore., where he has worked since 1994.
Dr. M. Fayyaz Akram
Dr. M. Fayyaz Akram has proven track record of entrepreneurship and executive management in professional services business setup, corporate development, business development and successful project deliveries. He did his BSc. from UET LHR, MSc. in Electric Power Systems from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute & PHD from Clarkson University. Dr. Akram has contributed transaction grade and tutorial papers in IEEE USA and is author of more than dozen international publications related to power system planning and operations. He is active and senior member of different working groups and committees in IEEE, PES and IAS. He has been awarded Hydro One Networks Inc. “Professional Excellence Award” in 2008, “IEEE Outstanding Engineer Award” of 1999, “Distinguished Post-Doctoral Position award” from USA Department of Energy in 1994 and “Con-Ed USA Fellowship award” in 1993.
Dr. Masood Ahmad
One of the best known Biker in Pakistan. Prof. Masood Ahmad was from Electrical Dept. U.E.T Lahore who left us at a sudden death on 03.03.2007. His sudden and un-believable death was caused by a routine infection which proved fatal in just a week. He was just about 50 years old. He taught the subjects related to Communication, Control systems, Digital signal processing etc. He introduced many mathematics related new eras of Electrical Engineering in U.E.T like Wavelets, Chaos, Fractals etc. He also taught as a visiting Faculty member at FAST, LUMS, Pak-Aims. His sudden death was a big loss not only to U.E.T but to the nation as he was the main pillar of EE dept. He was a great well-wisher of U.E.Tians and devoted his maximum time for the students. He lives in the hearts of thousands of UETian all over the world. Before his death, he had finished working on his Ph.D thesis, under the supervision of Dr. Shahid H. Bokhari (from U.S.A). Dr. Bokhari was about to come to Pakistan for taking his final Viva. In recognition to this, U.E.T awarded him Doctoral degree after his death. Mr. Hassan Jafar Zaidi
Hassan Zaidi has more than 38 years’ experience of power system studies for short term and long term transmission planning and in‐depth analysis of power systems in electric utilities. He has performed and supervised grid interconnection studies of almost all the Wind and Solar power projects in Pakistan. He is member of Grid Code Review Panel of NTDC, Pakistan and has drafted the Grid Code Addendum No.1 for Wind Power penetration and Addendum No. 2 of Solar Power integration in Pakistan’s system. He is also a Resource Person for SAARC Energy workshops on Renewables and Regulatory Framework He has extensive experience in network modelling, HVAC and HVDC transmission planning and grid interconnection studies of power plants, conventional and renewables especially Wind and Solar power plants, by using the state of art analytical tools of load flow, short circuit analysis and transient stability studies of big power systems.
Mr. Javed Rathore
Mr. Javed Rathore is a CEO of Advanced Systems Ltd. has over 25 years of diverse experience in the field of Communication, Network and Information Encryption/Security and Electronics Engineering. He received his BSc. in Electrical Engineering from UET Lahore, Pakistan, M.S. in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from The Ohio State University, and Ph.D. in Digital Communication Networks from Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
He designed and developed encryption equipment for strategic communications & networks. He has conceived, designed and developed proprietary encryption algorithms. he conceived, designed and implemented a robust messaging procedure (Cyber Link) for Bulk Encryption Units. He has mentored and trained R&D and Quality Assurance teams. He has perfected many procedures to analyze encryption strength. I have developed many methods for Quality Assurance of Encryption Equipment. He has trained several processionals from military. He is Founder and Chief Executive of a High Tech Company. He is also in charge of its R&D and Engineering Activity.
